ISEERcompare this, not the stars
Every AC on the shelf claims 5 Star, and customers reasonably assume they're all equally efficient. They aren't. BEE sets a minimum ISEER a unit must clear to earn the fifth star — and a machine that scrapes past that minimum carries exactly the same sticker as one comfortably above it. ISEER is the actual ratio of cooling delivered to electricity consumed across a season, so a higher number is a lower bill on the same usage. At 5.6 W/W this sits well up the range rather than at the threshold. The practical advice for any customer comparing two 5-star ACs: ignore the stars and ask both salesmen for the ISEER figure. It's printed on the BEE label of every unit, and it's the only number that separates them.
FlexiCool — the feature that fixes buying "one size too big"
Most households size an AC for the worst week of May, then run that same machine through eight milder months. A fixed-capacity unit has only two states, and in a room that doesn't need full output it short-cycles — cooling hard, switching off, warming, switching on again — which is both uncomfortable and wasteful. FlexiCool lets you run the compressor at a reduced fraction of its rated capacity instead. In practice: full capacity for a peak afternoon or a full room of guests, a lower setting on an ordinary night or when one person is sleeping, so the machine runs steadily at low power rather than cycling at high. It's the setting that turns a correctly-sized-for-peak AC into an efficient one for the rest of the year.
100% copper condenser — the specification that decides year five
The condenser sits in the outdoor unit, exposed to Delhi's air the whole year. Cheaper units use aluminium or alloy coils, which corrode faster in polluted, humid air and are effectively unrepairable — a pinhole leak means replacing the coil. Copper resists corrosion better, transfers heat more efficiently, and — the part that matters when something goes wrong — can be brazed and repaired by any technician. On an appliance that lives outdoors for a decade, this is the difference between a routine service call and a major replacement. Ask what the coil is made of on any AC being compared against this one; if the answer is vague, it isn't copper.
