claim
properlywhat it does and doesn't say
"No heat damage" appears on the box, and it deserves a straight explanation rather than being repeated at you. Dyson's own qualification is that the claim refers to styling without hot plates, and protection from extreme heat damage when the tool is used as directed. That is a meaningful claim and a narrower one than the three words suggest, so here is the useful version. This tool applies heat — up to 130°C — and heat applied to hair always has some effect; anyone telling you otherwise is selling rather than explaining. What it genuinely avoids is the two things that cause the worst damage in conventional straightening: direct contact with metal plates at 180–230°C, and the mechanical pressure of clamping the hair between them. Lower temperature, delivered by air, with no squeezing. That is a real difference and worth paying for if you straighten often — but "no heat damage" is not a licence to style carelessly, and the two words that actually matter are "as directed".
Prussian Blue and Rich Copper — a deliberate choice, not a default
Both Airstrait colourways cost effectively the same, so this is purely about which one you want to look at. Prussian Blue with Rich Copper is the more assertive of the two — a deep, slightly green-toned navy against warm copper, which is a genuinely unusual pairing and reads as considered rather than loud. Our Bright Nickel and Bright Copper version is the quieter option: brushed metallics that sit neutrally on any surface. Two practical points. First, a styling tool is unlike a kitchen appliance in that you see it close up, in your hands, in good bathroom light, several times a week — so a colour you actively like is worth more here than on something that sits across a room. Second, if this is a gift, the blue is the one that looks like a gift. Nickel looks like an excellent tool; Prussian Blue looks like someone chose it for you.
Cold shot — the step that decides whether the style survives the morning
This is the most skipped step in hair styling and the one that costs people the most, so it's worth understanding why it works. Heat is what makes hair temporarily reshapeable; the shape it actually keeps is the shape it holds while it cools. If you finish a section with the heat on and then move straight to the next one, that hair cools loose and unsupported — and starts drifting back towards its natural pattern almost immediately. Running the cold shot down a freshly styled section takes a couple of seconds and sets it in the straight position instead. The difference is not subtle: it's frequently the whole reason a style that looked perfect at eight o'clock has softened by eleven, particularly in Delhi's humidity. The Airstrait has cold shot as a listed function rather than an afterthought. Use it on every section, not just at the end.
🌡️ Six settings — three from wet, three from dry
Start low and only go up if the result asks for it. With six options most people reach for the highest out of flat-iron habit — which wastes the entire point of a tool designed around lower temperatures. The LCD shows which mode is live so you always know.
🎯 Right for
Results vary considerably by hair type, thickness and length. Very thick, coarse or tightly curled hair may need more passes than a plate straightener, or may not reach the same poker-straight finish. At ₹34,892 that's worth a conversation in store before ordering, not after.
Airflow temperature measured 16 times a second at the point it leaves the tool — so it holds your setting whether you move fast or slowly.
Airflow stops after three seconds of stillness and restarts when you move. It protects you from the pause you didn't mean to take.
Angled to create tension along the strand as the tool travels — the aligning force comes from directed air, not from squeezing the hair.
Under a kilogram. That matters for a tool held at shoulder height and moved continuously for twenty to forty minutes.

Warranty as per Dyson India's terms and conditions — 2 years as stated in supplier material. The scope of cover, parts and labour, exclusions, product registration and the service process are subject to brand policy and the final invoice or warranty card. Temperature settings quoted are manufacturer specifications for this model. Comparative temperature ranges cited for conventional plate straighteners are general industry figures given for context and are not manufacturer specifications; actual temperatures vary by product and setting. The "no heat damage" statement is Dyson's own product claim and, as qualified in supplier material, refers to styling without hot plates and to protection from extreme heat damage when the appliance is used as directed; it is not a claim that no heat is applied to the hair. Hair condition and styling outcomes depend substantially on hair type, thickness, length, porosity, existing condition, chemical or colour treatment history, product use and technique, and no particular result is claimed or guaranteed. Very thick, coarse or tightly curled hair may require additional passes or may not achieve the same finish as a plate straightener. Guidance regarding cold shot and the setting of style during cooling is general styling information and not a manufacturer specification. This is a styling appliance and not a hair or scalp treatment; it makes no therapeutic claim. Persons with scalp conditions, or with recently coloured, chemically straightened, keratin-treated or otherwise chemically processed hair, should seek advice from a qualified stylist before use. Not for use on wigs, hair extensions or synthetic hair unless confirmed suitable by the supplier of those products. The product title refers to filtered airflow; no filtration system is described in the supplied specification for this model and this should be confirmed before purchase if required. Operating voltage and itemised box contents are not stated in supplier material and should be confirmed. The appliance produces heated airflow which can cause burns: it must be kept away from skin, scalp, eyes and face, must never be used in a bath or shower or near water, must not be used with wet hands or on dripping wet hair, must be kept out of reach of children, must never be left running unattended, and must be allowed to cool completely before storage. The cable must be inspected regularly, must not be wrapped around the hot body of the appliance, and the appliance must be connected to a properly earthed socket. Country of origin is stated in supplier material as the Philippines. Stock is limited and availability should be confirmed before purchase.
