This is the feature that changes the economics for a shop, and it's worth thinking through before you buy any chest freezer. A fixed deep freezer does one thing: it freezes. Which is exactly what you want from March to August — ice cream, frozen snacks, cold storage running flat out. Then the season turns, demand drops, and a large freezer becomes an expensive box running at full power for stock you're not selling. Warranty as per Blue Star's terms and conditions — 4 years from date of purchase on the compressor, fan motor, thermostat and internal gas leaks, subject to T&C; the scope of cover on other parts, cabinet, gasket, electricals and accessories, parts and labour, exclusions, installation requirements and the service process are subject to brand policy and the final invoice or warranty card. Cooling performance, pull-down time, holding temperature, energy consumption and capacity in use vary with ambient temperature, ventilation clearance, load quantity and type, how often the lid is opened, thermostat setting, defrost frequency, voltage and installation conditions. Convertible operation between freezer and cooler modes is as provided by the brand; switching modes changes the temperature range and is not instantaneous. Stated litres refer to gross cabinet volume; usable space is lower once load lines and air circulation are accounted for. Allow the unit to stand upright for several hours after transport before first switching on. Install on a level floor with clearance for ventilation, away from direct sunlight and heat, and connect to a properly rated earthed supply; extension boards are unsuitable. This is a commercial appliance: follow the manufacturer's guidance on food storage temperatures and periodic defrosting.
