This is the number worth understanding before you compare this to anything else, because it is genuinely unusual. Most ACs claim stabiliser-free operation over a narrow band. This one is rated to keep running all the way down to 155 volts. That matters here for a specific reason: on the worst evenings of a Delhi summer — when every AC on your street is running at once — supply voltage sags. A machine with a narrower band simply cuts out, exactly when you need it. A wide band means the AC keeps cooling through the dip instead of tripping and restarting — which is easier on the compressor as well as on you. On a 2.5-ton machine at this price, that resilience is worth as much as the tonnage.
910 CFM — because capacity alone doesn't cool a big room
On a large space this matters as much as the tonnage, and almost nobody asks about it. Cooling capacity tells you how cold the machine can make air. Airflow tells you whether that air ever reaches the far corner. In a 300 sq ft hall, a long drawing room or a shop floor, a weak fan leaves you with one cold end and one warm end — so you drop the thermostat to fix the far side and freeze everyone sitting near the unit. 910 CFM through a 1259 mm-wide indoor unit, with wide-angle 2-way swing, is what actually moves air across the whole room. If a smaller AC has ever left half your hall uncomfortable, this is the specification that was missing.
4.5 litres an hour — the number that explains monsoon comfort
Cooling is only half of what an AC does; the other half is pulling water out of the air. That's why July feels worse than May at the same temperature. This machine removes 4.5 litres an hour — a serious figure, and what makes a humid room feel dry and comfortable at 26°C rather than clammy at 22°C. Two practical consequences. In the monsoon, run it longer at a moderate setting rather than briefly at a very low one — dropping the thermostat is usually the wrong fix for a sticky room. And insist on a proper downward drainage slope at installation: four and a half litres an hour has to go somewhere, and a poor drain is the commonest cause of water dripping indoors.
