This is the specification that decides whether a small fridge is usable, and almost nobody checks it before buying. The reversible door — check your corner before you order anything else
This is the practical detail that decides whether a small fridge works in your room, and it's the one people discover too late. A minibar fridge usually goes into a corner, against a wall, beside a desk or under a counter — and if the door is hinged on the wrong side, it opens into the wall and you can't reach inside without dragging the unit out every time. This door can be re-hung to open from either side. It ships hinged on the right, and swapping it is a straightforward job. Before you order, stand where the fridge will go and check which way the door needs to swing — and tell us, so we can advise on the changeover.

Small-fridge capacity is easy to misjudge, so here's the practical picture. 47 litres comfortably takes a day or two of drinks, milk, dahi, a few ready meals, snacks, chocolate and medicines — and the cabinet is built tall enough that 2-litre bottles stand upright rather than lying across the shelf wasting space, which is the failing of most fridges this size. The freezer section on top handles ice trays and a small amount of frozen food — it is not a substitute for a proper freezer. What this is not, is a family fridge: for a household doing weekly vegetable shopping, you need 190 litres or more. For one person, a guest room or an office cabin, it's exactly right.

Warranty as per Blue Star's terms and conditions — 1 year comprehensive, subject to T&C; the scope of cover, exclusions, installation requirements and the service process are subject to brand policy and the final invoice or warranty card. Cooling performance, pull-down time, holding temperature, noise and energy consumption vary with ambient temperature, ventilation clearance, load quantity, door opening frequency, thermostat setting, defrost frequency, voltage and installation conditions. Stated capacity is gross cabinet volume; usable space is lower once the shelf, freezer section and air circulation are accounted for. Annual energy figures and star ratings are as certified at the time of manufacture under standard test conditions and are subject to periodic revision; actual running cost depends on usage and tariff. This is a manual-defrost appliance and requires periodic defrosting by hand. Door reversal should be carried out as described in the user manual. R600a is a hydrocarbon refrigerant: install in a ventilated position, do not damage the refrigerant circuit, do not use electrical or mechanical means to accelerate defrosting inside the compartment, and have servicing carried out only by qualified technicians. Allow the unit to stand upright for several hours after transport before first switching on.
