SmokeStopsponge + columnar pellets
The reason to choose SmokeStop over a standard particle filter is simple: a HEPA layer catches particles in a mesh, and smoke, gases and smells are not particles — they pass straight through. That's why a purifier can clear the dust from a room and leave it smelling of cooking or traffic. SmokeStop adds a serious carbon stage using both carbon sponge and columnar carbon pellets — two forms with different surface characteristics, which together adsorb a broader range of gases than either alone. True HEPA at 99.97% — and why that matters in Delhi
"HEPA-type" and "HEPA-like" appear on a great many filters and mean very little. True HEPA is a defined standard: 99.97% capture at the most penetrating particle size. This layer traps PM2.5 and PM0.3 particulate, along with dust mites, mould spores, pollen and floral allergens, lint and household dust, pet dander, and exhaust and micro-smog — which is a fairly complete description of what Delhi NCR air contains between October and February. The airtight seal matters just as much: a filter that doesn't seal properly lets air bypass it entirely, and the purifier then runs while cleaning very little.
