This is the specification to check on any gas hob, and the phrase to look for is "on all burners". Plenty of hobs advertise flame failure safety but fit it to only two or three burners — usually the large ones — leaving the small simmer burners unprotected. Which is backwards, because the simmer burner is exactly where the risk sits: a pot of milk or dal left on a low flame boils over, drowns the flame, and gas keeps flowing into the kitchen unnoticed. Here every one of the five burners has an electromagnetic valve held open by the heat of its own flame. Flame out, valve shut, gas stopped — no alarm, no action needed, no one has to be in the room.
True brass burners — the part that decides how the hob ages
Burner caps take the worst of a kitchen: direct flame, boil-over, spilt masala, and a scrub every few days. Cheaper hobs use coated or plated alloy caps — they look identical in the showroom, and they hold up for a while. But once the coating wears through, the metal underneath starts to corrode and pit, the flame ports distort, and the flame goes from even blue to patchy and yellow-tipped. Solid brass has no coating to wear off. It handles heat evenly, resists corrosion, and can be lifted off and scrubbed properly for years without degrading. On a hob you'll use three times a day for a decade, that's the difference between one that still burns clean in year eight and one you're apologising for.
Cast iron supports and a 90 cm top — sized for Indian cookware
Two practical reasons this hob suits an Indian kitchen better than a narrower European-style one. First the supports: cast iron grates are heavy and sit flat, so a five-litre pressure cooker or a deep kadai doesn't rock when you stir hard — thin pressed-wire supports flex under that weight. Second the width: at 90 cm there is genuine space between burners, which means a big tawa and a kadai can run side by side without their handles clashing — the thing that makes a 60 cm four-burner hob frustrating once you're cooking for a family. The two 4 kW burners are placed for exactly this: heavy cookware, high heat, both at once.

Warranty as per Bosch India's terms and conditions — 2 years comprehensive, subject to T&C; the scope of cover, exclusions, installation requirements, product registration and the service process are subject to brand policy and the final invoice or warranty card. This is a built-in gas appliance and must be installed by a qualified gas fitter in accordance with the manufacturer's installation manual and applicable safety regulations. The counter cut-out must be prepared to the dimensions specified in the installation manual; confirm these before any cutting is carried out. A correctly rated and approved gas hose and regulator must be used for the applicable gas type, and the installation must be leak-tested at commissioning. A properly earthed 16 A power point is required within reach of the supplied 150 cm cord. Adequate kitchen ventilation is required; gas appliances consume oxygen and produce combustion products. Installation, carpentry, counter cut-out, cabinet modification, gas fitting, plumbing, electrical work, socket provision and any civil work are chargeable separately unless expressly included on the final invoice; the customer is responsible for confirming counter dimensions, gas type and electrical provision before ordering. Burner ratings, total output and cooking performance vary with gas type, supply pressure, cookware, ambient conditions, burner cleanliness and maintenance. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scourers on the tempered glass surface. Discontinue use and call for service if the flame burns yellow, lifts from the burner, or if gas is smelt.
