The extra kilo over an 8 kg dryer sounds marginal until you look at what actually goes in. Bedsheets, towels, curtains and winterwear are bulky rather than heavy — they take up drum volume, and a drum that's too full doesn't dry properly because the clothes can't tumble. Nine kilos is what lets a double bedsheet set, or a load of thick towels, or winter quilts and jackets go through in one cycle rather than two. For a household of five or six that's the difference between one run and two on the same evening. Blocked-filter alert and full-tank indicator — two small lights that save the machine
Every tumble dryer needs two things done, and both get forgotten: clean the fluff filter, empty the water tank. A clogged filter chokes the airflow, so the machine runs longer, dries worse, costs more electricity and — on any dryer — becomes a genuine fire risk. A full tank simply stops the machine mid-cycle, usually discovered when you open the door to damp clothes. This dryer tells you before either becomes a problem: a blocked-filter alert on the panel and a full-water-tank indicator. They sound like minor conveniences and they are actually the features that keep a dryer working properly in year four — because they turn maintenance from something you must remember into something the machine reminds you about.
Stainless steel drum — why the drum material matters on a dryer
The drum is the only part of a dryer your clothes actually touch, and it's in there tumbling for hours a week, warm and damp. Painted or coated drums can chip over the years, and once the coating breaks the surface underneath can corrode and snag fabric — which shows up as pulls and rough patches on good clothes, often blamed on the washing machine. Stainless steel has no coating to fail. It stays smooth, doesn't rust in a permanently humid environment, and keeps tumbling gently over a decade of use. On an appliance you'll load twice a week for years, this is the specification that decides whether your clothes still look good at the end of it.

Drying time, results, usable capacity and energy consumption vary with fabric type, garment weight and thickness, load size, residual moisture after washing and the spin speed used, selected programme and dryness level, ambient temperature and humidity, filter and condenser condition, ventilation clearance around the appliance and voltage; the 9 kg figure is a manufacturer rating for suitable fabrics and does not apply to every garment type. The stated energy rating is to the European standard and is not a BEE rating; confirm the applicable label on the unit at the time of purchase. The appliance must be installed on a level floor with adequate ventilation clearance and connected to a properly earthed 16 A power point suitable for its 2800 W draw; electrical work, socket provision, stacking kit and any civil work are chargeable separately unless expressly included on the final invoice. Do not stack the dryer on a washing machine without the manufacturer's approved stacking kit. The fluff filter must be cleaned after every drying cycle and the condensate tank emptied when indicated; the condenser unit requires periodic cleaning as described in the user manual. Do not tumble dry items contaminated with oil, cooking oil, petrol, solvents, wax or similar substances even after washing, nor foam, rubber-backed or plastic-coated items. Always observe garment care labels; wool, silk and items marked not suitable for tumble drying must not be dried in the machine, and damage to unsuitable items is not covered. Allow the cool-down phase to complete and do not leave a hot load in the drum. Servicing must be carried out by qualified technicians.
