For years the choice was framed as: split if you want an inverter, window if you can't have a split. This removes that trade-off. A fixed-speed window AC runs flat out until the room is cold, switches off, lets it warm, and slams on again — which is the on-off thump everybody associates with old window units, along with the temperature swinging either side of comfortable. An inverter compressor varies its speed instead: hard at the start, then throttled back to hold the temperature steadily. You get a more even room, a quieter machine at part load, no repeated hard starts, and less electricity for the same cooling. The full-load figure is 5100 W but it also runs at 2550 W half load — and most of the time, that's where it will sit.
10 years on the compressor, 5 on the PCB — read that again
On a window AC, 1+5+10 is unusually strong cover and it's the specification to put in front of a customer. Manufacturers do not offer ten years on a compressor they expect to fail — warranty length is the clearest signal you get about what a brand actually believes about its own machine. The PCB cover matters just as much on an inverter: an inverter has a control board doing real work, and on a cheap unit that board is the expensive part that goes. Five years on it removes the main risk of buying inverter technology in a window format. Compare this directly against whatever else is being considered — most window ACs at this money offer one year and five on the compressor, and nothing on the board.
