Seven years of comprehensive cover on an air purifier is unusual, and it's the specification worth leading with. Most purifiers at any price carry one or two years. A brand offering seven is making a statement about expected service life — manufacturers price warranty against expected failure rates, and nobody offers seven years on something they expect to be dead in four. The extra two years on the motor is worth claiming, because the motor is the part that actually wears in a machine that may run for months on end — but it requires registering the product with Coway, and there is normally a window after purchase in which to do it. Filters are the real running cost — here's the honest arithmetic
The thing nobody tells you when selling an air purifier is that the machine is a one-time cost and the filters are a recurring one. This unit's filter life is rated at about 8500 hours, which Coway puts at roughly one and a half to two years of typical use. But "typical" is doing a lot of work in that sentence: run it around the clock through a Delhi November, in a home with cooking smoke and street dust, and the filters load up faster. Ask us the filter price before you buy, not after — it is the only honest way to compare two purifiers, and a cheaper machine with expensive filters can cost more across five years. The pre-filter is washable and reusable: rinsing it under a tap once a month and letting it dry fully is what stops coarse dust loading the expensive HEPA behind it.
What "930 sq ft" actually means — and how to place it
Coverage figures on purifiers are rated under test conditions in an open space with a standard ceiling height, so treat the number as a guide rather than a promise. A purifier only cleans air it can circulate — a 930 sq ft rating does not stretch down a corridor into two bedrooms, and a machine pushed into a corner behind a sofa will fall well short of its rating. Give it clearance to draw air in and push it out, keep it away from curtains and walls, and put it in the room you actually spend time in rather than the largest room in the house. Close the door and the windows while it runs — a purifier competing with an open window in Delhi is losing.
