Seven years of comprehensive cover on an air purifier is unusual, and it's the specification worth leading with. Most purifiers at any price carry one or two years. A brand offering seven is making a statement about expected service life — manufacturers price warranty against expected failure rates, and nobody offers seven years on something they expect to be dead in four. The extra two years on the motor is worth claiming, because the motor is the part that actually wears in a machine that may run continuously for months — but it requires registering the product with Coway, so do it when the unit is installed rather than remembering it in year three. Filters are the real running cost — here's the honest arithmetic
The thing nobody tells you when selling an air purifier is that the machine is a one-time cost and the filters are a recurring one. This unit's filter life is rated at about 8500 hours, which Coway puts at roughly one and a half to two years of typical use. But "typical" is doing work in that sentence: if you run it hard through a Delhi November when AQI is severe, and in a home with cooking smoke and street dust, the filters load up faster and you will replace them sooner. Ask us the filter price before you buy, not after — it is the honest way to compare two purifiers, and a cheaper machine with expensive or frequently-replaced filters can cost more over five years. The pre-filter is washable, and keeping it clean genuinely extends the life of the HEPA behind it.
What "931 sq ft" actually means — and how to place it
Coverage figures on purifiers are rated under test conditions in an open space, so treat the number as a guide rather than a promise. A purifier cleans the air it can circulate — which means a 931 sq ft rating does not stretch across a corridor into two bedrooms, and a machine pushed into a corner behind a sofa will underperform its rating badly. Give it space to draw air in and push it out, keep it away from curtains and walls, and put it in the room you actually spend time in rather than the largest room in the house.
