Most air purifiers pull air in through one face, which creates a problem nobody mentions in the showroom: their rated coverage assumes open placement, and almost nobody has an open spot to put one. In a real bedroom the purifier ends up in a corner, beside a wardrobe, or behind a chair — and a single-sided intake pressed against a wall is drawing from a much smaller volume than the specification assumed.
