Description
80 cm. Four Burners With Room Between Them.
FFD on Every One.
The wide one — 80 cm of hob for the same four burners, which is 20 cm more counter than the 60 cm version and the only way to run four full-sized vessels at once · four 3D brass burners, spread properly rather than packed · a Flame Failure Device on every burner, cutting the gas automatically if a flame goes out · battery-operated auto ignition · 8 mm grey toughened glass, thicker than the usual 6 mm · cast iron pan supports that hold a full pressure cooker or a heavy kadhai dead stable · metal control knobs · 800 × 525 × 135 mm · Made in India · 2-year comprehensive warranty with service support across India
Twenty
extra cmthis is the whole point
Four burners is not the feature here — the 60 cm hob has four too. The 80 cm width is. Squeeze four burners into 60 cm and they sit close enough that you can run two large vessels plus two small ones, and no more — a wide kadhai on one burner overhangs its neighbour, and handles collide. At 80 cm the same four burners get real separation. A pressure cooker, a kadhai, a tawa and a pan all sit on their own burners at once, with handles turned outward and space to reach in between without passing your arm over another flame. For a household that cooks full meals for six or more, or that has two people in the kitchen at once, that is the difference between the hob working with you and against you. Measure your counter run before ordering — 80 cm plus clearance is a real commitment of worktop, and it is worth confirming before anything is cut.
FFD — what it's actually protecting you from
A Flame Failure Device is a thermocouple that senses whether a flame is genuinely burning and closes the gas valve within seconds if it isn't. The situations it exists for are ordinary ones: milk or dal boiling over and drowning the flame, a gust through an open window, a wet vessel base, a knob knocked open while wiping down. Without FFD, in every one of those cases gas keeps flowing into the kitchen with nothing to burn it. That is how most domestic gas accumulations happen — not a dramatic leak, but a flame that went out quietly while nobody was in the room. On a wide four-burner it matters more, not less: the rear burners on an 80 cm hob sit well outside your line of sight when you're working at the front, and a flame that dies back there can go unnoticed for a long time. Every burner on this hob has it.
Before anything is cut — read this
A built-in hob drops into a cut-out and sits flush, held by clips underneath with a silicone seal around the edge. The cut-out is not the same size as the hob. This unit measures 800 × 525 mm externally, and the opening must be smaller than that so the hob's lip rests on the counter — cut to 800 × 525 and the hob drops straight through. The correct dimensions come from Crompton's installation template and nowhere else. If a modular kitchen company or carpenter is fabricating your counter, they need those figures before the granite or quartz is cut, not after — an oversized opening cannot be repaired, only replaced. The cabinet below needs clear space for the 135 mm body and the gas connection, and the gas point has to reach. Send us your counter plan and we'll go through it properly before you commit to anything irreversible.
🎯 Right for
If your counter run is tight, the 60 cm four-burner is the same hob in less width — you lose spacing, not burners. Tell us the counter dimension first and we'll tell you which one actually fits.
Flame spreads outward across the vessel base rather than concentrating in a ring — which is what stops the middle of a tawa cooking faster than the edge.
Heavy enough that a full pressure cooker sits dead stable, and they don't distort over years the way thin pressed frames do. Dry them after cleaning.
Turn and it lights. Keep a spare battery — when the spark stops it's almost always the battery, not a fault.
Metal rather than plastic: they take heat, they don't discolour, and they give finer control at the simmer end.

Crompton HOB-SSFB804SP-MBU · SensoSafe Plus · 80 cm Built-In Hob · 4 × 3D Brass Burners · Flame Failure Device · Battery Auto Ignition · 8 mm Grey Toughened Glass · Cast Iron Pan Supports · Metal Knobs · 800 × 525 × 135 mm · Made In India · 2-Year Comprehensive Warranty
Warranty as per Crompton's terms and conditions — 2 years comprehensive with service support across India; the scope of cover, treatment of the glass top, burners, pan supports, knobs, the auto-ignition system and the flame failure device, parts and labour, exclusions, registration requirements and the service process are subject to brand policy and the final invoice or warranty card. Glass breakage and damage arising from impact, thermal shock, misuse or improper cleaning is generally not covered. This is a gas appliance and must be installed and connected by a qualified gas technician using a compatible regulator and an ISI-marked gas hose; the hose must be inspected regularly and replaced at the interval marked on it. LPG and PNG compatibility for this model is not stated in supplier material and must be confirmed before purchase; where a nozzle conversion is required it is carried out by an authorised technician and is chargeable separately. Cut-out dimensions must be taken from the manufacturer's installation template and are smaller than the appliance's external dimensions; counter cutting of granite, quartz or other worktop material is irreversible, cannot be corrected if oversized, and is the customer's responsibility to verify before work begins. Counter cutting, stone work, carpentry, cabinet modification, sealing, gas hose, regulator, nozzle kit, installation hardware, installation labour and any civil work are chargeable separately unless expressly included on the final invoice; site readiness, including a suitable gas point and cabinet clearance below the hob, is the customer's responsibility. The Flame Failure Device interrupts gas supply to a burner when that burner's flame is extinguished; it is a safety feature only, is not a gas leak detector, does not protect against leaks elsewhere in the installation, and does not make it safe to leave cooking unattended. The appliance must be used only in a well-ventilated kitchen and never for space heating; the cylinder valve should be closed after use, and leak testing must be carried out with soap solution and never with a flame. Flame output, gas consumption, cooking times, ignition reliability, FFD response and burner life depend on gas quality and pressure, regulator condition, installation, burner and sensor cleanliness, cookware size, weight and material, ambient conditions, user technique and maintenance; brass burners discolour with normal use, which is not a defect, and cast iron supports may show surface rust if left wet. Individual burner heat ratings, cut-out dimensions, gas type compatibility and ignition battery type are not stated in supplier material and should be confirmed with us before purchase or installation.
