yearson the right parts
Most hobs carry two years on everything and that's the end of it. This one adds five years specifically on the burners and the glass — and those are exactly the two things you'd want covered. Burners are what corrode, clog and lose even flame distribution after years of boil-overs and cleaning. Glass is what cracks. Between them they account for most of what actually goes wrong with a hob after the warranty period on a cheaper machine has quietly expired. A brand extending cover to five years on precisely those parts is making a statement about how it expects them to hold up — and at this price that cover is a large part of what you're paying for. Ask us to confirm the terms in writing on your invoice, and note that accidental glass breakage from impact or thermal shock is normally excluded on any brand.
The triple-ring wok burner — what it's for
A triple-ring burner has three concentric rings of flame ports rather than one, which spreads heat across a much wider circle. On a single-ring burner the flame contacts a narrow band of the vessel base, so a wide kadhai gets a hot spot in the middle and cooler edges — which is why things catch in the centre while the sides are still waiting. A triple ring puts flame under most of the base at once. For Indian cooking that matters more than it does in most kitchens: bhuna-ing a masala, deep-frying, a big batch of rajma, or anything in a wide heavy vessel where you want the whole base working. It is also the burner to use for fast boiling. Individual burner outputs in kW are not stated in supplier material for this model — ask us and we'll get the figures from Crompton before you buy.
82 cm is a serious commitment of counter — measure first
This is the widest hob in our range, and the width is the reason to buy it: four burners across 82 cm means four full-sized vessels genuinely fit at once, handles turned outward, with room to reach between them. But 82 cm plus clearance either side is a real chunk of worktop, and it needs confirming before anything is ordered. A built-in hob drops into a cut-out and sits flush, held by clips underneath — and the cut-out is smaller than the hob, never the same size. Neither the external dimensions nor the cut-out are stated in supplier material for this model, so both must come from Crompton's installation template before a modular kitchen company or carpenter cuts granite or quartz. An oversized opening cannot be repaired, only replaced. Send us your counter plan and we'll work through it with you first.
🎯 Right for
Check the counter run before anything else. If 82 cm doesn't fit, we have the same four-burner layout at 80 cm and at 60 cm — tell us the dimension and we'll tell you what actually works.
Cuts the gas if a flame dies — from a boil-over, a draught or a wet vessel base. On a wide hob it matters more: the rear burners sit outside your line of sight.
Turn and it lights. If it's the battery type, keep a spare — when the spark stops it's almost always the battery, not a fault.
Heavy enough that a loaded pressure cooker sits dead stable, and they don't distort over years the way thin pressed frames do. Dry them after washing.
8 mm where most hobs use 6. Black looks excellent and shows water marks more — keep a dry cloth handy.

Crompton HOB-VPDC-MBL · Viona Plus · 82 cm Built-In Hob · 4 Brass Burners · Triple-Ring Wok Burner · Flame Failure Safety Device · Auto Ignition · 8 mm Toughened Glass · Cast Iron Pan Supports · 2-Year Comprehensive + 5 Years On Burners And Glass
Warranty as per Crompton's terms and conditions — 2 years comprehensive on the product plus 5 years on the burners and glass from the date of purchase; the scope of cover, treatment of the glass top, burners, pan supports, knobs, the auto-ignition system and the flame failure safety device, parts and labour, exclusions, registration requirements and the service process are subject to brand policy and the final invoice or warranty card, and should be confirmed in writing before purchase. Glass breakage and damage arising from impact, thermal shock, misuse or improper cleaning is generally not covered by any warranty. This is a gas appliance and must be installed and connected by a qualified gas technician using a compatible regulator and an ISI-marked gas hose; the hose must be inspected regularly and replaced at the interval marked on it. LPG and PNG compatibility for this model is not stated in supplier material and must be confirmed before purchase; where a nozzle conversion is required it must be carried out by an authorised technician and is chargeable separately. External dimensions and cut-out dimensions are not stated in supplier material for this model and must be obtained from the manufacturer's installation template before any counter cutting; the cut-out is smaller than the appliance's external dimensions, counter cutting of granite, quartz or other worktop material is irreversible, cannot be corrected if oversized, and is the customer's responsibility to verify before work begins. Counter cutting, stone work, carpentry, cabinet modification, sealing, gas hose, regulator, nozzle kit, installation hardware, installation labour and any civil work are chargeable separately unless expressly included on the final invoice; site readiness, including a suitable gas point and cabinet clearance below the hob, is the customer's responsibility. The Flame Failure Safety Device interrupts gas supply to a burner when that burner's flame is extinguished; it is a safety feature only, is not a gas leak detector, does not protect against leaks elsewhere in the installation, and does not make it safe to leave cooking unattended. The appliance must be used only in a well-ventilated kitchen and never for space heating; the cylinder valve should be closed after use, and leak testing must be carried out with soap solution and never with a flame. Individual burner heat ratings are not stated in supplier material; flame output, gas consumption, cooking times, ignition reliability, FFD response and burner life depend on gas quality and pressure, regulator condition, installation, burner and sensor cleanliness, cookware size, weight and material, ambient conditions, user technique and maintenance. Brass burners discolour with normal use, which is not a defect, and cast iron supports may show surface rust if left wet.
