The extended five-year comprehensive warranty on this model is genuinely valuable — and it is conditional, which most shops won't tell you until you claim. Four things are required: installation by a Daikin authorised partner; product registration after purchase; a GST invoice; and two preventive maintenance services every year. That last one catches people out. It is not a suggestion — it is a condition of the cover, and if you skip services the extended warranty can be refused years later when you actually need it. Our advice is simple: budget for those two services annually from the start, keep every service record and your GST invoice together in one place, and register the product the week it's installed rather than meaning to. Done properly, you have five years of comprehensive protection on a premium machine. Done casually, you have one. We'd rather tell you now than at the point of claim.
3D Coanda Airflow — the answer to "the AC blows straight on me"
The commonest complaint about a bedroom air conditioner is that whoever sleeps on the near side gets a cold draught all night while the far corner stays warm. That happens because a conventional AC fires cold air outward and downward into the room. Coanda airflow works differently: the flap is angled so the cold air clings to the ceiling and travels along it, cooling as it goes, and then descends gently across the whole room rather than dropping on the nearest person. Cold air is heavier than warm air, so once it has spread it falls evenly by itself. The practical result is a room that cools uniformly without anyone sitting in the blast — which matters most in exactly the two places this AC gets fitted: a bedroom where the bed is under the unit, and a living room where someone always ends up in the draught seat. Combined with the 16-metre throw, it also reaches the far end of a long room.

The annual consumption figure is the most useful thing on any AC label, because it converts directly into money at whatever your unit rate is.
