19.7 cm
acrosswhy the width is the feature
The commonest reason people put off buying an espresso machine is not price — it is that they have looked at their kitchen and concluded there is nowhere to put one. A full-size espresso machine is typically thirty centimetres or more across and needs clearance above it for the tank and around it for the wand, which in most Indian kitchens means giving up a serious piece of working counter permanently. The Dedica line exists specifically to solve that. At 19.7 cm wide this takes roughly the space of a dish rack, and because the depth is 38.7 cm it sits comfortably against a standard 60 cm counter with room to work in front of it. Nothing has been removed to achieve that — it still has 15 bar, a real steam wand, a metal body and a full portafilter. Measure your gap before ordering, and remember to allow height clearance above for filling the tank.
Rated for plant-based milk — and it does behave differently
This machine's wand is stated as suitable for both dairy and plant-based milk, which is worth knowing because the two do not steam the same way. Dairy foams easily because milk proteins trap air and hold it; most plant milks have far less protein, so they need more care to get a stable foam and are quicker to split or go thin. Three things help. Use a barista-formulated version if you can find one — oat and soy barista editions exist precisely because they are adjusted to foam and to resist curdling in hot acidic coffee. Introduce air for a shorter time than you would with dairy, then spend longer swirling to fold it in. And keep the temperature lower — plant milks scorch and separate at temperatures dairy tolerates, so stop earlier than instinct suggests. Oat generally behaves best, soy is workable, almond is the hardest to get a good texture from.
🎯 Right for
Not right for someone who wants one button and no involvement. A manual machine rewards attention — if the household wants coffee without a process, ask us about bean-to-cup and we'll point you there instead.
Not plastic, which matters on a machine that heats and cools every day for years. It also feels considerably more solid when you lock the portafilter in.
Dual spout pulls two cups together rather than one after the other — the difference between one coffee ritual and two, every morning.
Adjustable, so a tall glass for iced coffee fits under the spouts. Most compact machines force you to brew into a small cup and pour over.
No capsules, no pods, no subscription — your only ongoing cost is the coffee itself, which over a few years is a large difference against a pod machine.

Warranty as per De'Longhi India's terms and conditions. Supplier material for this model does not state a warranty period; the duration, scope of cover, parts and labour, exclusions, product registration and the service process are subject to brand or importer policy and the final invoice or warranty card, and must be confirmed before purchase. Damage arising from scale build-up, failure to descale, use of an incorrect descaling product, use of unsuitable water, immersion of the machine body or unauthorised servicing is commonly excluded; consumable and accessory items including filters, seals, the water tank and drip tray may be excluded or covered for a shorter period. This is a manual espresso machine with a portafilter and reusable filter and does not include a coffee grinder; ground coffee or a separate grinder is required and is not supplied. A tamper and milk jug are not listed among the box contents and should be confirmed before purchase; portafilter size is not stated. Coffee quality, extraction, crema, milk texture and drink temperature depend substantially on the coffee used, its roast level, freshness and grind, the dose and tamp applied, water quality and temperature, cup preheating, machine cleanliness and scale condition, and on user technique; results improve with practice and no particular outcome is guaranteed. Latte art requires practice and is a user skill, not a machine function. Foaming behaviour, stability and temperature tolerance vary substantially between dairy and plant-based milks and between brands and formulations of plant-based milk; guidance given is general and results will vary. Cold brew produced by this machine is a rapid cold-extraction process and differs from traditional long-steep cold brew in method and result. Stated dimensions of 38.7 × 36.7 × 19.7 cm should be used for counter planning; other width figures appearing in supplier marketing material are inconsistent with this and should be disregarded. This appliance produces pressurised hot water and live steam which can cause severe burns: the steam wand remains hot after use, the portafilter must not be removed during extraction, and the machine must be kept out of reach of children during and after operation. Only removable parts may be washed; the machine body must never be immersed and the appliance must be unplugged before cleaning. Regular cleaning of the steam wand and periodic descaling are required and are the user's responsibility; descaling products, filters and servicing are chargeable separately unless expressly included on the final invoice. In hard-water areas the use of filtered or treated water is recommended. The appliance must be used on a flat, stable, heat-tolerant surface and connected to a properly earthed socket. Stock availability and delivery timelines are subject to serviceability and business hours and should be confirmed before ordering.
