Auto
coffee
manual milkan unusual and clever split
Most machines are automatic at everything or manual at everything, and this one deliberately isn't. The coffee side is automated: nine recipes live on the touchscreen, and the machine handles grinding, dosing, temperature and extraction when you press one. The milk side is not: it has an open steam wand, the kind you hold a jug under and texture yourself. Once you think about how people actually use these machines, the split makes a lot of sense. Nobody enjoys weighing doses and timing shots on a weekday — that part is fiddly, easy to get wrong, and produces a worse cup when rushed. But steaming milk is the part that's satisfying, that visibly improves with practice, and that you can actually show someone. So this machine takes away the chore and keeps the craft. If you want the coffee to be reliable and the milk to be yours, this is a better fit than either a fully manual machine or a fully automatic one.
Cold brew, iced espresso, Espresso Cool — three different drinks
The cold menu lists three things that sound similar and are not, and knowing the difference is what stops you ordering the wrong one at home. Cold brew is coffee extracted with cold water from the start. No heat is ever applied, which leaves behind much of the acidity and bitterness heat pulls out — so it tastes smooth, rounded and naturally sweet, and it is the mildest of the three. Iced espresso is the opposite approach: a normal hot shot, pulled and then served over ice. It keeps espresso's sharpness and intensity, and the ice inevitably dilutes it a little as it melts. Espresso Cool sits between them — extracted to come out already cool and concentrated, so it has espresso's body without being watered down by melting ice. Different drinks for different moods, all from the same machine in under five minutes rather than the twelve-hour steep traditional cold brew demands.
The most complete kit in the La Specialista range
Worth pointing out because it is unusual: this listing itemises everything, and the list is generous. You get a 350 ml stainless steel milk jug, a tamper, single and double shot filters, a cleaning brush and the drip tray. The steel jug in particular matters more than it sounds — steaming milk properly depends on feeling the jug get hot in your hand, which is how you judge temperature without a thermometer, and a plastic jug simply doesn't transmit that. On a machine whose whole milk argument is the manual wand, supplying the right jug rather than expecting you to buy one is the difference between learning the skill in week one and putting it off. The tamper is there because the machine expects you to press the grounds yourself. Between them, that is roughly two to three thousand rupees of accessories you would otherwise be buying separately.
🎯 Right for
A good middle position, and a sensible first serious machine. Less fuss than the Arte, which asks you to tamp by hand for everything; less money than the Maestro, which adds an automatic milk carafe on top. Tell us how you actually make coffee and we'll place you honestly.
Keeps the dose consistent shot to shot. If the dose wanders you can't tell whether a change came from your adjustment or from luck.
Espresso brews in a narrow window; below it the shot is sour, above it burnt. Holding it steady through the shot is what makes cups repeatable.
Use the grinder normally, or bypass it with pre-ground — useful for decaf in the evening without emptying the hopper.
Recipes, strength and volume in one place, plus cleaning and maintenance prompts — so the machine tells you what it needs rather than you remembering.

For the floor, lead on the split: the coffee is automatic, the milk is yours. Nine recipes on a touchscreen handle grind, dose, temperature and extraction; the milk is an open wand you texture by hand. That's a deliberate and clever division — nobody enjoys weighing doses on a weekday, but steaming milk is the satisfying part that improves with practice. Second, explain cold brew vs iced espresso vs Espresso Cool — three drinks that sound the same, and nobody in the market explains the difference. Third, the accessory kit is the best in the range and includes the steel jug, which is what actually lets someone learn milk. Cross-fill: this box list fills the gap on the Arte (no jug listed), the Opera and the Maestro (no box list at all). Also missing here: pump pressure, grind settings, hopper capacity, country of origin. Call 9710000251.

Warranty as per De'Longhi India's / the importer's terms and conditions — 1 year as stated in supplier material; online product registration may be required and should be completed promptly after purchase. The scope of cover, parts and labour, exclusions and the service process are subject to brand or importer policy and the final invoice or warranty card. Damage arising from scale build-up, failure to descale, use of an incorrect descaling product, use of unsuitable water, introduction of anything other than roasted coffee beans into the bean hopper, immersion of the machine body or unauthorised servicing is commonly excluded; consumable and accessory items including filters, seals, the tamper, milk jug, water tank and drip tray may be excluded or covered for a shorter period. The dimensions stated in supplier material for this model are 12 × 22 × 12 cm; this is inconsistent with the stated weight of 10.8 kg, the 1.7 litre water tank and the presence of a built-in grinder and touchscreen, and should be disregarded. The correct unit dimensions must be confirmed before purchase and before planning counter space. Pump pressure, number of grind settings, bean hopper capacity, maximum cup clearance height and country of origin are not stated in supplier material and should also be confirmed. Coffee quality, extraction, crema, milk texture and drink temperature depend substantially on the beans used, their roast level, freshness and storage, grind setting, dose, tamp pressure, water quality and hardness, cup preheating, machine cleanliness and scale condition, and on user technique; this machine requires the user to tamp and to texture milk manually, and results improve with practice, with no particular outcome guaranteed. Latte art requires practice and is a user skill, not a machine function. Descriptions of the differences between cold brew, iced espresso and Espresso Cool are general guidance on coffee preparation and not manufacturer specifications for this model. Cold Extraction Technology produces a rapid cold-extracted coffee and differs from traditional long-steep cold brew in method and result; the stated preparation time of under 5 minutes is a manufacturer specification measured under their own test conditions. Accessory values quoted are indicative only. This appliance produces pressurised hot water and live steam which can cause severe burns and contains a powered grinder: the steam wand and milk jug remain hot after use, the portafilter must not be removed during extraction, nothing may be inserted into the grinder or hopper while the machine is connected to power, and the machine must be kept out of reach of children during and after operation. Only designated removable parts may be washed; the machine body must never be immersed and the appliance must be unplugged before cleaning or descaling. Regular cleaning of the steam wand and grinder and periodic descaling are required and are the user's responsibility; descaling products, filters and servicing are chargeable separately unless expressly included on the final invoice. In hard-water areas the use of filtered or treated water is recommended.
