It counts what it picks up — 15,000 times a second
Inside the inlet sits a piezo sensor that sizes and counts every particle passing through, up to 15,000 times a second. Two things follow, and both are unusual. First, the vacuum raises suction automatically when it detects a higher concentration of dust, so power goes where it's needed rather than running flat out and draining the battery. Second, the LCD screen reports what you've actually removed in real time — the number and size of particles, broken into categories, alongside remaining run time and maintenance alerts. It's the only vacuum that shows you evidence of the clean rather than asking you to take it on trust.
Fully-sealed HEPA filtration — what comes out matters as much as what goes in
Most vacuums capture dust and then leak a proportion of it straight back into the room through gaps in the body, which is why a room can smell dusty after cleaning. The V15 uses fully-sealed whole-machine HEPA filtration capturing 99.99% of microscopic particles and allergens, so the air expelled is cleaner than the air drawn in. Behind it, Dyson's patented Root Cyclone™ system with 14 cyclones separates dust and debris before it reaches the filter — which is why there's no loss of suction as you work.
