Every vacuum with a rotating brush bar has the same weakness: long hair wraps tightly round the bar as it spins. Within a few cleans it forms a dense collar that stops the bristles reaching the carpet, and the only fix is to stop, turn the head over and cut it free with scissors. The V8's brush bar is fitted with 43 polycarbonate vanes set between the bristle rows. As the bar rotates, each vane passes through the hair like a comb tooth, lifting the strands off the bar rather than letting them settle and wind on. Once lifted clear, the airflow takes them straight into the bin. The clearing happens continuously while you vacuum, not as a separate maintenance job afterwards.
