Height is the specification that quietly determines how much of your home a robot vacuum actually cleans, and almost nobody checks it before buying. Most robots stand around 9.5 to 10.5 cm tall. A typical low sofa, a bed frame or a wall-mounted cabinet often leaves a gap of nine centimetres or less — so a standard robot noses in, touches the frame and reverses out, and that floor never gets cleaned at all. Those are precisely the places where dust settles thickest, because they are also the places you cannot reach with a broom or a mop without moving furniture. At 8.1 cm the T50 Pro Omni fits under a great deal that stops other machines. 75°C to wash the mops, 45°C to dry them — and why both numbers matter
Robot mop pads are the part of these machines that goes wrong first, and it is nearly always for one of two reasons. The first is that cold water does not remove oil. A mop pad that has been over a kitchen floor picks up a film of cooking grease, and rinsing it cold simply spreads that film around — so the pad gradually stops absorbing and starts smearing. Hot water at 75°C softens and lifts that grease properly, which is why the wash temperature is worth paying attention to. The second is damp storage. A pad left wet in a dark station for a day grows bacteria, and the smell that follows is the commonest complaint about robot mops. The station's 45°C hot air drying finishes the job so the pad is stored dry. Together they mean the mop is genuinely clean at the start of every run rather than progressively worse.

Two specific weaknesses account for most disappointment with robot vacuums, and both are addressed here. The first is edges. A round robot cannot physically press its brush into a right-angled corner, so most leave an untouched band two or three centimetres wide along every wall — which is exactly where dust accumulates, since airflow in a room pushes it to the perimeter.
