An ordinary robot vacuum saves you pushing a machine around, and then quietly hands you four new chores. The dustbin fills in two or three runs and has to be emptied. The mop pads come off wet and dirty and need rinsing by hand. If you forget to hang them up, they smell. And the water tank needs filling before every mop. The OMNI station does all four. When the robot docks, the station draws the contents of its bin out at up to 21 kPa into a sealed 3 litre disposable bag — a ten-second operation that you never touch, and one bag holds up to sixty days of dust. It then washes the mop pads, using separate tanks so clean water and dirty water never mix, refills the robot's own water tank, and runs a heater to dry the pads with hot air so bacteria and odour do not develop between cleans. The practical difference is that you interact with the machine roughly once every two months instead of every second day.
OZMO™ Turbo 2.0 — mops that spin instead of drag
Most robot mops are a damp cloth stretched over a plate on the underside of the robot, pulled across the floor as the machine drives forward. That wipes up loose surface dirt reasonably well, and does very little to anything that has dried on, because there is no scrubbing action at all — only the weight of the robot and the movement of the cloth. OZMO Turbo 2.0 uses two rotating mop pads that spin at up to 180 revolutions per minute while pressing down on the floor. Spinning under pressure is what actually lifts dried tea rings, food marks and footprints, because the pad passes over the same spot many times per second rather than once. It is the difference between wiping a floor and scrubbing it. Combined with the 4-stage system — dual side brushes drawing debris in from the edges, a floating main brush that follows uneven surfaces, then suction, then the mops — the robot sweeps, vacuums and scrubs in a single pass.
AIVI™ 3D — the robot can see what it is about to hit
Laser navigation builds an accurate map of walls and furniture, but a laser turret sits on top of the robot and sweeps at that height — it cannot see small objects lying on the floor directly in its path. That is why robot vacuums are notorious for driving into charging cables, dragging socks across the house and finding whatever the dog left. AIVI 3D adds a forward-facing RGB camera with on-board AI processing, so the robot recognises what an object actually is rather than simply detecting that something is there. It can identify and route around cables, shoes, toys and other common floor clutter, and it includes human recognition. Two things follow. You spend less time tidying the floor before letting the robot run, which is the main reason people stop using them. And the robot is far less likely to become stuck mid-clean and stop with the job half done.
