This robot clings to glass by vacuum suction and works on windows that are often several floors up. The supplied safety tether is not optional and is not a formality — it must be secured to a fixed anchor point indoors before the robot is placed on the glass, on every use, including on ground-floor windows. The 9-stage protection system and the backup battery are designed to hold the machine on the glass during a power cut, but no suction system can be guaranteed against every failure, and a falling 2.5 kg object is dangerous to anyone below. A window cleaning robot has one job it must never fail at, and everything else is secondary. It has to stay on the glass. The WINBOT MINI holds itself in place with vacuum suction — a pump maintains a low-pressure seal against the pane, and atmospheric pressure does the rest of the work. Sensors monitor that seal continuously while the robot moves, so a drop in suction is detected rather than discovered. The two failure modes people worry about are a power cut and being knocked loose, and both are addressed. An internal lithium-ion battery takes over automatically if mains power is interrupted, keeping the pump running so the robot stays attached rather than falling the moment the electricity goes — which matters a great deal in Delhi. The supplied safety tether is the final layer and must always be anchored indoors. Nine stages in total, combining hardware and sensing.
Ultrasonic mist rather than a squirt of water
Spraying liquid onto a vertical pane is harder than it sounds, and it is where cheaper window robots produce streaks. A conventional pump nozzle throws out droplets. On glass, droplets run — they slide down under gravity, carrying dissolved dirt with them, and leave the tracks and tidemarks you see afterwards from indoors when the light is right. The WINBOT MINI uses two ultrasonic nozzles instead. A rapidly vibrating element breaks water into a mist of droplets far too small and light to run, so the moisture sits on the glass as an even film exactly where it was applied. Two things follow. The dust is wetted uniformly across the pane rather than in wet patches and dry patches, so the cloth lifts it evenly. And far less water is used overall, which means nothing drips off the bottom edge of the window onto the sill, the balcony or a neighbour below.
WIN-SLAM 3.0 and a rectangular body — why the shape matters on glass
Two design choices decide whether a window robot actually finishes the job. The first is navigation. WIN-SLAM 3.0 scans the pane first and works out its edges and dimensions, then cleans in a planned pattern of overlapping passes. Without that, a robot bounces around at random, leaves patches untouched, and takes far longer than it needs to. Edge detection is what lets it work right up to the boundary of frameless glass without going over it. The second choice is the shape. A round robot physically cannot reach into a right-angled corner, and windows are made almost entirely of right angles — so a circular unit leaves four dirty corners on every pane. The rectangular body presses its cleaning cloth into corners and along frame edges, and the compact footprint also handles small windows, ventilators and tilted panels that larger machines cannot fit onto at all.

Check the glass before you buy. Suction robots need a smooth, sound, continuous surface. Textured, frosted, patterned, cracked or loosely fitted glass is not suitable, and neither are panes smaller than the robot's own footprint.
