Description
A Hob, in a Box, for One.
Where There Isn't a Kitchen.
A single appliance that covers most of what one person cooks in a day, where a proper kitchen is not available · steam, cook and boil in the same unit · a 1.2 litre non-stick pot for noodles, soup, eggs and scrambled eggs · a steaming tray that sits above it, so vegetables or momos steam while something else cooks below · dual power settings — low for a gentle steam, high for a fast boil · automatic boil-dry protection that cuts power if the water runs out · a polycarbonate lid with a steam vent · 600 W · 1.2 kg · made in India · 2 year manufacturer warranty
Two
levelswhere the versatility actually comes from
The useful thing about this machine is not that it does three things, but that it does two of them at once. The non-stick pot sits on the heating base and handles anything that needs liquid — noodles, soup, dal, eggs, scrambled eggs. The steaming tray sits above it, in the steam already rising from whatever is below, and cooks vegetables, momos, fish or chicken without using another burner or another vessel. So a bowl of soupy noodles with steamed vegetables on top is one appliance, one plug point and one thing to wash — which is the entire case for owning it in a hostel room, a small office pantry, or a flat where the kitchen is one gas burner. The dual power setting matters more here than it looks: high gets water to the boil quickly, low holds a gentle steam without everything catching or boiling over, and the difference between them is what separates cooked vegetables from mush.
Boil-dry protection — the feature that saves the appliance
The way small cookers die is almost always the same: someone starts something, gets distracted, and the water boils away while the element keeps heating. Without protection the base overheats, the non-stick coating burns off, and in the worst case there is a fire risk on a plastic-bodied appliance. Automatic boil-dry protection cuts the power when the water level drops too low, which turns a ruined appliance into an interrupted meal. It is the single most valuable thing on the specification and the one nobody asks about at the counter. Two honest qualifications, though. It is a protective cut-off, not a licence to leave the machine unattended — treat it as a backstop for the times you get distracted rather than a design feature to rely on. And it protects the appliance from running dry; it does not prevent food burning in the pot if there is still liquid present.
Looking after the non-stick pot — this is what determines its life
The non-stick pot is what makes this practical for scrambled eggs and instant noodles, and it is also the part most people ruin within a year. Three habits protect it. Use wooden, silicone or plastic utensils only — a steel spoon or a fork scratches the coating, and once scratched it flakes and stops releasing. Do not scour it: a soft sponge and warm water is enough, and abrasive powders or steel wool take the coating off directly. And let it cool before washing rather than plunging a hot pot into cold water, since thermal shock lifts the coating from the metal beneath. Beyond that, avoid running it dry or empty on the high setting, since overheating an empty non-stick surface is the fastest way to damage it. Looked after, the coating lasts years; treated like a steel pan, it will not last one.

🎯 Suited to
1.2 litres is one or two portions, not a family meal. This is a personal-scale appliance for places without a proper kitchen. For a household, a pressure cooker or induction hob will do far more for the money and we will say so.
Low for gentle steaming, high for a fast boil — the difference between cooked vegetables and overcooked ones.
Break-resistant and transparent, with a steam vent so pressure releases in a controlled way rather than rattling the lid.
Light enough to pack for a trip or move between rooms — a genuine consideration for hostel and temporary use.
A footprint the size of a large book, so it fits on a desk, a shelf or a corner of a pantry counter.

Warranty as per Glen terms and conditions — 2 year manufacturer warranty as stated in supplier material. The scope of cover, parts and labour, exclusions, product registration and the service process are subject to brand policy and the final invoice or warranty card. Pots, non-stick coatings, trays, lids and seals are wear or accessory items and may be excluded from cover or covered for a shorter period; damage arising from misuse, overheating, running the appliance dry, use of metal utensils or abrasive cleaning on the non-stick surface, thermal shock, immersion of the base or unauthorised servicing is commonly excluded. The stock reference for this item mentions a rice cooker, but no rice sensor or keep-warm function is described in the supplied specification; suitability for cooking rice unattended should be confirmed before purchase. Keep-warm function, temperature range, non-stick coating type, whether the pot is removable, cord length and spare pot availability are not stated in supplier material and should be confirmed before purchase; low and high are power settings rather than stated temperatures. Power, capacity, dimensions, weight and materials are manufacturer specifications. Cooking times and results depend on the quantity and type of food, starting temperature, the setting selected, water quantity and mains voltage; a 600 W appliance heats more gently than a gas or induction hob and requires longer cooking times. Boil-dry protection is a protective cut-off intended to prevent damage when the water level falls too low; it does not permit unattended operation and does not prevent food from burning where liquid is still present. Explanations of multi-level steaming, boil-dry protection and non-stick care provided here are general information to aid understanding and are not manufacturer specifications. This appliance has a 1.2 litre capacity suited to one or two portions and is not a substitute for a pressure cooker, rice cooker or hob for household quantities. This product is a kitchen appliance and not a medical device or a nutritional product. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, and no health or dietary outcome is claimed or implied; steaming is a cooking method and any nutritional characterisation of it is general information rather than a product claim. The appliance produces steam capable of causing severe scalding; the lid must be lifted away from the face and hands and the vent must not be leaned over during operation. All parts remain hot after switch-off and the appliance must be kept away from children during use and cooling. The marked maximum fill level must not be exceeded and the appliance must not be run empty or unattended. It must be placed on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface clear of flammable materials and overhead cupboards. Only wooden, silicone or plastic utensils should be used with the non-stick pot, which must not be overheated when empty, scoured, cleaned with abrasives, or subjected to sudden cooling. The appliance must be connected to a properly earthed socket, must not be operated with wet hands, and the base and cord must never be immersed in water. It must be unplugged and allowed to cool before cleaning. Discontinue use if the cord, plug, lid, pot or body is damaged or the non-stick coating is flaking. Food, particularly meat, fish and poultry, must be thoroughly cooked before consumption.
