4.5
kVwhy this matters here specifically
Anyone who has run appliances in Delhi NCR knows how this goes. The supply spikes when a transformer trips, when a generator cuts in or out, or after a load-shedding restoration — and it is not the heating element that dies, it is the control board. On a touch-control cooktop the PCB drives the display, the sensors and the switching, so when it goes the whole appliance is finished even though the heating element is perfectly fine. Built-in 4.5 kV surge protection is a component that absorbs those spikes before they reach the board. It is not a feature you will ever see working, and it is the one most likely to decide whether this cooktop lasts five years or eighteen months. Worth asking about on any touch-control kitchen appliance you compare — most in this price range simply do not have it, and it costs the maker very little to include.
Infrared, not induction — and why that is the point
Despite what the title suggests, this is not an induction cooktop, and that is its advantage rather than a shortcoming. Induction creates a magnetic field and therefore only heats cookware containing iron: your aluminium kadhai will not work on it, nor will brass, copper or most old family vessels, and people routinely spend more replacing utensils than they spent on the appliance. Infrared heats its own surface instead, and the pan sits on that heat much as it would over a gas flame. So steel, cast iron, aluminium, glass, ceramic and non-stick all work, and the only requirement is a flat base making proper contact. If your kitchen is full of vessels you already like, this is the technology that lets you keep them. The honest trade-off: infrared draws more electricity than induction for equivalent cooking, and the glass surface itself gets hot.
Residual heat — the one habit this cooktop demands
Because an infrared cooktop heats its own surface, that glass stays dangerously hot for several minutes after the power is off — and the dark display gives no warning at all. This is the practical difference from induction, where the plate stays relatively cool because only the pan heats, and it is worth adapting to deliberately. Treat the glass exactly as you would a gas burner used a minute ago: do not touch it, do not rest anything on it, and do not let a child near it simply because it looks switched off. Two things follow from that. Never pour water on hot glass or lay a wet cloth on it — thermal shock cracks crystal glass, and a cracked plate is generally not a warranty matter. And clean it only once fully cooled, which is also when spills lift off most easily. With that one habit, it is the easiest cooking surface in any kitchen to keep clean.
🍲 Preset cooking modes
Barbecue
For use with the grill rack
Stir Fry
High heat, quick cooking
Soup
Gentle heat for simmering
Alongside the presets there is a temperature knob, which is the more useful control day to day — a physical dial adjusts heat mid-cooking faster than stepping through touch buttons, much as a gas knob does. The 240-minute timer suits long simmering, and switches the cooktop off at the end.

A warranty card is not listed among the box contents though a 1 year manufacturer warranty is stated — keep your invoice, and ask us to confirm how warranty is registered for this model.
🎯 Suited to
Worth saying plainly: infrared uses more electricity than induction for the same cooking, because it heats the surface and surrounding air as well as the pan. If all your cookware is already induction-compatible and running cost is your priority, ask us about an induction plate instead — we will tell you which genuinely suits your kitchen.
A physical temperature dial alongside the touch panel — quicker to adjust mid-cooking with busy hands, and one less thing that depends on the sensor reading cleanly.
Light and flat enough to store upright in a cupboard between uses, or to take to a second home — it does not have to live on the counter.
No burner grates, no gas rings — cleaning is one wipe once cooled, which is the practical advantage over a gas hob.
For moving and repositioning the unit — worth having on an appliance whose surface gets genuinely hot.

Warranty as per Glen terms and conditions — 1 year manufacturer warranty as stated in supplier material. The scope of cover, parts and labour, exclusions, product registration and the service process are subject to brand policy and the final invoice or warranty card; a warranty card is not listed among the stated box contents and the registration process should be confirmed at purchase. The glass plate and grill rack may be treated as accessory or wear items and covered differently; damage to the glass surface from impact, thermal shock, pouring water on a hot plate, cracking or chipping, and damage arising from misuse, use of unsuitable cookware, unsuitable electrical supply or unauthorised servicing is commonly excluded, and glass breakage is generally not covered. The listing title states four cooking modes while the supplied feature detail names three; the mode count should be confirmed before purchase. The listing title also refers to induction utensils: this product is an infrared cooktop and not an induction cooktop, and its cookware compatibility is broader than that of an induction appliance. Maximum pan diameter, temperature range, number of power levels, auto shut-off and overheat protection, child lock, BIS certification status, cord length and country of origin are not stated in supplier material and should be confirmed before purchase. Power of 2200 W is the electrical input rating. Surge protection of 4.5 kV is a manufacturer specification describing protection of internal electronics against voltage transients under their stated test conditions; it does not guarantee protection against all electrical events, does not replace proper earthing, suitable wiring or an external stabiliser where supply conditions warrant one, and is not a personal safety device. Cooking performance, heating speed, heating uniformity, energy consumption, preset mode results, timer accuracy and ease of cleaning depend on cookware material, base flatness and diameter, food quantity, selected mode and temperature, supply voltage, usage and maintenance. Infrared heating heats the cooking surface directly and is a different technology from induction; it accommodates a wider range of cookware but is generally less energy-efficient than induction for equivalent cooking, and the cooking surface becomes hot and retains heat after the appliance is switched off. Cookware must have a flat base; glass, ceramic and earthenware cookware must be rated safe for direct electric or infrared heating. Explanations of surge protection, infrared and induction operation, grilling behaviour and residual heat provided here are general information to aid understanding and are not manufacturer specifications. Grilling with the supplied rack generates heat, smoke, grease and cooking odour and requires adequate ventilation. This product is a kitchen appliance and not a medical device; no health, dietary or nutritional outcome is claimed or implied. The appliance draws 2200 W and must be connected directly to a properly rated and earthed wall socket, not to light-duty extension boards or boards shared with other high-load appliances. The cooking surface remains hot after switch-off and presents a serious burn hazard, particularly to children, who must be kept away during and after use. Water must never be poured onto the hot glass and the surface must be cleaned only when fully cooled. The appliance must be placed on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface with clearance on all sides, away from curtains, paper, plastics, cloth and other flammable materials, must not be used beneath low overhead cabinets, must not be left unattended during cooking, must not be moved while hot, must never be immersed in water, and must not be operated with wet hands. Discontinue use if the glass is cracked or chipped, or if the cord, plug or controls are damaged.
