Description
Two things to know before you order
First, read the humidity note below. A desert cooler is superb in Delhi's dry April to June heat and does very little once the monsoon arrives — that is how evaporative cooling works, and it is the thing people are disappointed by when nobody explains it. Second, several specifications are not stated in the supplied material for this model, including power consumption, pad thickness, number of speeds and whether it has castor wheels. Call 9710000251 and we will confirm the full sheet from Godrej before you order.
4400 m³/hr From Five Blades.
More Air Than the Bigger Model.
The higher-airflow cooler in the Godrej CL EDGE range · 4400 m³/hr of air delivery from a 5-blade fan — more air moved than the 87 litre model in the same range, which is what matters when you are cooling a hall or a shop floor rather than a bedroom · antibacterial honeycomb pads, which is the specification that decides whether a cooler smells fresh in its third season · a 75 litre tank for long unattended runs · a UV-protected body in wine red that will not fade in direct sun · inverter compatible, so it keeps running when the power goes · 1 year warranty on the product and the fan motor
Dry heat,
not
monsoonthe honest limitation
An evaporative cooler passes air through wet pads. Water evaporating into that air takes heat out of it, which is why the air leaving is cooler than the air entering — the same reason a wet cloth feels cold on your skin. That only works when the air still has room to absorb moisture. Through April, May and June in Delhi the air is hot and dry, so a desert cooler drops the temperature substantially while drawing a fraction of what an air conditioner uses. Once the monsoon sets in and humidity climbs, evaporation slows, the cooling falls away, and the room can feel damp instead. So buy this for the months it is genuinely good in, and understand it is not a year-round replacement for an AC. One thing that helps a great deal: leave a window or door open so humid air can leave and dry air keeps arriving — a desert cooler sealed into a closed room works against itself.
Anti-
bacterial
padsthe spec that decides year three
This is the feature that separates this model from most coolers at the price, and it addresses the single commonest complaint about air coolers. A cooler's pads sit permanently wet, in the dark, at summer temperatures — which is close to ideal conditions for bacteria, mould and algae. That is why an older cooler starts pushing out air with a musty, swampy smell, and why the water in a neglected tank turns slimy. Antibacterial-treated honeycomb pads carry an additive that inhibits that growth in the media itself, so the pads stay cleaner between changes and the air stays fresher for longer. It matters most exactly where a cooler is most useful: a room where someone sleeps all night in the airflow. It does not remove the need for maintenance though. Drain the tank when the cooler is idle for a few days, rinse the pads through the season, and replace them when they scale up — the treatment slows the problem, it does not abolish it.
Five blades and 4400 m³/hr — why this beats the bigger model on air
A useful thing to know when comparing coolers in this range: tank size and cooling power are two different things, and people routinely buy on the wrong one. The tank determines how long it runs before a refill. The air delivery figure determines how much cooled air actually reaches you. This 75 litre model moves 4400 m³/hr, which is more than the 87 litre model in the same CL EDGE range at 3900 m³/hr — a smaller tank but a stronger fan. Five blades rather than three is part of that: more blades move more air per revolution, so the fan delivers a higher volume without simply spinning faster and louder. Practically, choose this one if you are cooling a large or open space and want maximum airflow; choose the 87 litre model if unattended overnight running with fewer refills matters more. Tell us the room and we will say which way to go.
Inverter compatible — the Delhi summer argument
Desert coolers draw a small fraction of what an air conditioner does, and that has one consequence that matters more than the electricity bill. An ordinary household inverter can carry a cooler through a power cut; it cannot carry an air conditioner, which needs far more than a domestic inverter and battery can supply. In Delhi NCR, where cuts tend to arrive on exactly the hottest evenings at peak load, that is the difference between a room that stays liveable and one that does not. Two practical notes. Whether it runs comfortably depends on your inverter's capacity and the age of your battery, so check what else you are running at the same time. And the exact power draw of this model is not stated in supplied material — we will confirm it with Godrej so you can size it against your inverter properly rather than assume.
🎯 Suited to
A desert cooler needs air moving through the room to work — it is not for a sealed space. If you need cooling that also works through July and August humidity, ask us about an air conditioner and we will tell you honestly which suits your room and budget.
More blades move more air per revolution — 4400 m³/hr without the fan simply having to spin faster and louder.
Treated media inhibits the bacteria and mould that make an older cooler smell musty — most valuable in a bedroom.
Wine red that holds its colour — UV treatment resists the fading and surface chalking that direct sun causes over seasons.
Large enough to run through a night and into the morning without refilling, depending on temperature and fan speed.

Warranty as per Godrej terms and conditions — 1 year warranty on the product and fan motor as stated in supplier material. The scope of cover, parts and labour, exclusions, product registration and the service process are subject to brand policy and the final invoice or warranty card. Cooling pads, pumps and louvres are wear or accessory items and may be excluded from cover or covered for a shorter period; cooling pads are a consumable requiring periodic replacement at the owner's cost. Damage arising from misuse, running the pump dry, moving the unit with water in the tank, unsuitable electrical supply or unauthorised servicing is commonly excluded. Rated power consumption, pad thickness, number of speed settings, air deflection or auto-swing, protection features including thermal overload, dry-run and voltage protection, voltage range, castor wheels, water level indicator, weight, remote control, ice chamber, hourly water consumption, recommended room size, noise level and country of origin are not stated in supplier material for this model and should be confirmed before purchase. Air delivery of 4400 m³/hr, tank capacity, fan blade count and dimensions are manufacturer specifications measured under their own test conditions and are not directly comparable between brands. This appliance is an evaporative desert air cooler and is not an air conditioner. Evaporative cooling depends on ambient humidity: cooling performance is greatest in hot dry conditions and reduces significantly as relative humidity rises, including during the monsoon period, when the appliance may add moisture to the room without appreciable cooling. Adequate ventilation, with a window or door left open, is required for effective operation. Cooling performance, temperature reduction, water consumption and runtime depend on ambient temperature, humidity, room size, ceiling height, ventilation, pad condition, water quality and fan speed, and no specific temperature reduction is claimed or guaranteed. The antibacterial description of the cooling pads is as stated by the manufacturer and refers to treatment of the pad media intended to inhibit microbial growth; it does not eliminate the need for regular cleaning, draining and pad replacement, and no health, hygiene or air-quality outcome is claimed or implied. Inverter compatibility depends on the capacity and condition of the purchaser's inverter and battery and on the appliance's power draw, which is not stated in supplier material. This product is a household and commercial appliance and not a medical device. The appliance combines mains electricity with a large volume of water and must be connected only to a properly earthed socket, must be switched off and unplugged before filling, draining, cleaning or pad replacement, must not be operated with wet hands or while standing in water, and must not be moved or tilted with water in the tank. Standing water must be drained when the appliance is not in regular use to prevent mosquito breeding and odour; tank and pads require regular cleaning. Children must be kept from climbing on the unit or introducing fingers or objects through the grille. Discontinue use and disconnect the appliance if the cord or plug is damaged, if water leaks from the body, if the motor sounds abnormal or if it trips the electrical supply.
