They Come to You, Not the Other Way Round.
A 55 litre desert cooler that publishes its real numbers · 2354 CFM — 4000 cubic metres an hour — with stated coverage up to 473 sq ft, so you can actually match it to your room instead of guessing · a 1350 RPM double ball bearing motor built for long summer running · a 55 litre tank · honeycomb pads with Bacteria Shield treatment · inverter compatible, so it keeps going through a power cut · thermal overload protection · 4-way air deflection and a bed-height fan · castors with front brakes · just 13.7 kg · and a 1 year on-site warranty — Havells come to your home
CFMand a stated coverage figure
Air delivery is the specification that decides whether a cooler suits your room, and most listings never state it. This one does, in both units: 2354 cubic feet per minute, which is 4000 cubic metres per hour. Havells also state coverage up to 473 square feet — roughly a 20 by 23 foot room — which lets you check it against your own space rather than trusting a vague "suitable for large rooms". Tank capacity, by contrast, only tells you how long it runs before refilling; it says nothing about how much air reaches you. A 55 litre cooler with strong air delivery will out-cool a 70 litre one with weak delivery every time. So when you are comparing coolers, ask for the CFM figure first and the tank size second. Coverage figures assume reasonable conditions — decent cross-ventilation and dry heat — so treat 473 sq ft as an upper bound rather than a promise.

Roughly: this one for a bedroom or living room, the 70 L where you want an ice chamber and the lowest power draw, the 100 L for a shop floor or workshop. Come in and we will talk it through against your actual room.
On-site warranty — worth more than it sounds on a 14 kg appliance
Most appliance warranties at this price are carry-in: something fails, and you are expected to get the unit to a service centre yourself. For an air cooler that means emptying the tank, loading a 14 kg unit into a car or auto, and losing a day — usually in the middle of the summer when you need it most. Havells state this model carries a one year on-site warranty, meaning a technician attends at your address instead. That is a genuine practical difference and worth asking about on any cooler you compare. Two things to confirm at purchase, which we will put on your invoice: that on-site service covers your pin code, and exactly what is included — coolers typically exclude physical damage and treat pads and pump as wear items. Ask us and we will get you the specifics in writing rather than leaving it to the warranty card.
Double ball bearing motor at 1350 RPM
Cheaper coolers use bush bearings, which are simply a sleeve the shaft turns inside. They work, but they wear, and as they wear the motor gets louder and less efficient — which is why an old cooler often sounds rougher each summer. Ball bearings at both ends of the shaft carry the load on rolling elements instead, so there is far less friction and far less wear. On an appliance that runs ten or twelve hours a day for three months at a stretch, that is exactly where the difference shows: quieter running, less vibration, and a motor that is still turning smoothly several summers later. The 1350 RPM figure is the motor speed driving a 40.64 cm fan, and together those produce the 2354 CFM air delivery. It is the kind of specification nobody asks about in a showroom but which decides whether you are buying another cooler in three years.
Keeping it clean — and what the pad treatment does and doesn't do
The honeycomb pads carry a Bacteria Shield treatment, which Havells describe as reducing bacteria on the pad surface. It addresses the genuine weakness of every evaporative cooler: the pads stay wet, and warm wet material grows mould, which is why a neglected cooler smells musty by its second season. But a coating is not a substitute for cleaning, and it does not make the cooler an air purifier — it treats the pads, not the air. Three habits keep it fresh. Drain the tank whenever the cooler will stand unused for more than a couple of days. Rinse the pads and tank periodically through the season, using clean water rather than hard or stored water where you can. And run the fan dry for a few minutes before putting it away at the end of summer, so nothing is stored damp. Do that and it will smell of nothing at all next April.
🎯 Suited to
At 13.7 kg this is the easiest of the three to move around, and 107 cm tall on a 59 × 40 cm footprint fits a normal room corner. For a shop floor, ask us about the 100 litre commercial model — it moves twice the air.
Cuts power automatically if the motor overheats — a blocked intake or a stalled fan will not run on until something is damaged.
The fan sits higher in the body, so air reaches you lying down instead of travelling along the floor beneath the bed.
See the level at a glance. Running the pump dry is the commonest way a cooler pump fails, and this is what prevents it.
Mechanical knobs rather than a touch panel — simpler to use and one less thing to fail on a wet-running appliance.

Warranty as per Havells terms and conditions — 1 year on-site warranty on manufacturing defects as stated in supplier material, with doorstep service by Havells subject to serviceability. Physical damage and wear and tear are stated as excluded. The scope of cover, coverage of the motor, pump, cooling pads, body, electrical components and castor wheels, parts and labour, on-site service coverage by location, exclusions, product registration and the service process are subject to Havells brand policy and the final invoice or warranty documentation and should be confirmed before purchase; on-site service availability for a given pin code should be verified. Cooling pads and the water pump are consumable or wear items on evaporative coolers. Damage arising from running the pump without adequate water, use of dirty or stagnant water, blocking the air intake or outlet, tilting the unit while filled, water ingress to electrical components, unsuitable or unearthed electrical supply or unauthorised servicing is commonly excluded. Power consumption, number of fan speeds, presence of an ice chamber, number of cooling pad sides, noise level, auto swing and remote control availability are not stated in supplier material and should be confirmed before purchase. Air delivery of 2354 CFM / 4000 m³ per hour, coverage of up to 473 sq ft, motor speed of 1350 RPM, tank capacity, fan diameter, dimensions and weight are manufacturer specifications determined under their own test conditions; the stated coverage figure is an upper bound under favourable conditions and actual cooling performance, runtime per tank and water consumption vary substantially with ambient temperature, relative humidity, ventilation and cross-airflow, room size and ceiling height, occupancy, water level and quality, pad and pump condition, selected speed, placement and supply voltage. Comparisons with other models in the range are based on the figures stated by the manufacturer for each model and, where a figure is not published for a model, no comparison is implied. This product is an evaporative air cooler and not an air conditioner: it cools by evaporating water into the air stream and therefore increases the humidity of the space, its effectiveness reduces significantly as ambient humidity rises, and it requires continuous ventilation with an open window or door to function correctly. No specific temperature reduction is claimed or guaranteed. Inverter compatibility depends on the capacity and condition of the purchaser's inverter and battery and on the total load connected. Running cost depends on the applicable electricity tariff and usage. The Bacteria Shield description of the cooling pad treatment is the manufacturer's own product description and relates to treatment of the cooling pads; this product is a household appliance and not a medical device or an air purifier, no antibacterial, antimicrobial, air-purification, allergen-removal or health outcome is claimed or implied by Mahajan Electronics, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Regular draining and cleaning remain necessary regardless of any pad treatment. Standing water must not be left in the tank when the appliance is unused, both for hygiene and because stagnant water can support mosquito breeding. The appliance must be connected to a properly earthed supply, switched off and disconnected before filling, draining, cleaning or moving, placed level on a firm floor with the brakes applied, moved only when empty, and must not be used outdoors in rain, tilted while filled or exposed to splashing. Electrical components, cord and controls must be kept dry. Fingers and objects must be kept clear of the fan grille and children must not be permitted to climb on the appliance or play with the water. Additives must not be introduced into the water tank unless expressly permitted by the manufacturer. Discontinue use and seek service if the appliance trips the electrical supply, if water is observed near electrical components, if the motor becomes unusually noisy or if burning odour is detected.
