The
tank
is the
geyserwhere every geyser eventually fails

Nearly every water heater that fails does so in the same way: the inner tank corrodes and starts to leak, usually into a false ceiling or down a wall. The element can be replaced, the thermostat can be replaced, but a leaking tank means a new geyser. Three things in this unit are aimed squarely at that. The Feroglas tank is built from ultra-thick cold-rolled steel plate with a dry powder coating bonded to the inner surface, which puts a barrier between the water and the steel. The anode rod is the second layer, and it works by sacrifice — it is deliberately made of a metal that corrodes more readily than the tank, so the water attacks the rod instead of the steel. The stainless steel core keeps the rod intact as it works. The third is the Incoloy 800 glass-coated element, which resists the scaling that hard Delhi water causes. Havells backs the tank for seven years, which is the number that matters most on this page.

🌀

Whirl Flow — why the first bucket is hotter than you expect

Here is a problem every geyser has and few solve well. When you draw hot water out of the top of the tank, cold water simultaneously enters at the bottom to replace it. If that incoming cold water is allowed to jet straight up into the tank, it churns through the heated water and mixes with it, so the temperature of what is left drops sharply — you get a few hot minutes, then lukewarm water, even though the tank is still full. Whirl Flow directs the incoming cold water so that it swirls in at the base rather than shooting upward. Because hot water is less dense and naturally sits above cold, keeping the two separated in layers means the hot water at the top stays hot and comes out first. Two practical results: you get more genuinely hot water out of the same 25 litres, and reheating is quicker because the element is warming a smaller cold layer rather than a whole tank of tepid water.

💪

8 bar pressure rating — the specification to check for a high-rise flat

This is the number most buyers never look at, and it is the one that decides whether a geyser survives in an apartment. An ordinary domestic geyser is typically rated for around 6 bar. In a low-rise house fed by an overhead tank, the water pressure is modest and that is fine. In a tall building, or in any flat where a pressure pump has been fitted to improve the shower, the pressure reaching the inlet is considerably higher — and a tank held permanently at a pressure near its limit is being stressed every hour of every day. This unit is rated to 8 bar, or 0.8 MPa, which gives real headroom on a pump-fed line. The multifunction safety valve supplied with it is the other half of that system and must be fittedit releases excess pressure as water expands during heating, and a geyser installed without it is genuinely dangerous. Have it installed by a qualified plumber.

🌡️ Adjustable thermostat 🔥 Thermal cut-out ⚙️ Multifunction safety valve
💧 IPX4 splash-proof 🔩 Anode rod protection 💡 Power & heating LED indicators 🌡️ External temperature indicator

The external temperature indicator shows the water temperature without opening anything — useful for setting the thermostat to a level that suits your use rather than leaving it at maximum, which wastes energy and increases scaling.

High-Rise Flats Pressure Pump Systems Family Bathrooms Hard Water Areas Bucket Baths & Showers Vertical Wall Mounting

25 litres suits a family bathroom in regular use. The unit is 466 mm high and 385 mm wide, weighing 13.2 kg empty — full, it holds another 25 kg of water, so the wall and fixings must be sound. This is a vertical-mount model and must not be installed horizontally.

⭐ BEE 5-Star, 0.465 kWh Standing Loss

Standing loss is the energy lost as heat over 24 hours with no water drawn. At 0.465 kWh it holds heat well, which is what the star rating is measuring.

🧊 CFC-Free PUF Insulation

High-density polyurethane foam packed around the tank. It is the insulation, not the element, that decides whether water is still hot in the morning.

💧 IPX4 Splash Protection

Rated against water splashing from any direction — appropriate for a bathroom wall, though not for direct jets or immersion.

🌡️ Adjustable Thermostat

Set the storage temperature to suit your use. A lower setting reduces both standing loss and the rate at which scale forms on the element.

⚠️ A 2000 W appliance holding heated water under pressure in a wet room. Installation matters more than anything else here. 1. Have it installed by a qualified plumber and electrician. A geyser is not a DIY fitting, and incorrect installation voids the warranty. 2. The multifunction safety valve supplied must be fitted, on the correct inlet, and never blocked, plugged or bypassed. Water expands as it heats, and without a working pressure release the tank is under stress it was not designed for. 3. Some dripping from the safety valve during heating is normal — pipe it away to a drain, and have it checked if it becomes continuous. 4. Mount vertically on a sound structural wall using suitable fixings; the unit weighs 13.2 kg empty and roughly 38 kg full. 5. Connect to a properly earthed supply through a dedicated circuit with an ELCB or RCD, rated for a 2000 W load. 6. Never switch it on with an empty tank — the element must be submerged or it will burn out immediately. 7. Fill the tank fully and open a hot tap until water flows steadily before first switching on. 8. Do not touch electrical parts with wet hands and keep the unit switched off at the isolator when not in use. 9. Water can be hot enough to scald. Set the thermostat to a sensible level, and take particular care with young children and elderly family members. 10. Have the anode rod inspected periodically as the manual directs, especially in hard water — a spent anode is the commonest reason a tank fails early. 11. Drain the tank before any servicing and switch off at the isolator first. 12. If you notice leaking, tripping, discoloured water or unusual noise, switch it off and call for service.

Warranty as per Havells India's terms and conditions — 7 years on the inner tank, 4 years on the heating element and 2 years comprehensive as stated in supplier material. The scope of cover, parts and labour, exclusions, product registration and the service process are subject to brand policy and the final invoice or warranty card. Warranty cover is generally conditional on correct installation by a qualified professional, on the supplied multifunction safety valve being fitted and functional, and on the appliance being operated within its rated pressure and supply conditions; damage arising from incorrect installation, excessive supply pressure, dry operation, scaling, or use of water outside the manufacturer's stated quality parameters is commonly excluded. Anode rod inspection and replacement, descaling and other periodic maintenance are the owner's responsibility and may be required to maintain tank warranty validity. Capacity, energy rating, power rating, pressure rating, standing loss, reheating time, mixing factor, ingress protection, dimensions and weight are manufacturer specifications measured under their own test conditions. The stated reheating time of 40 minutes corresponds to a 50°C temperature rise under the manufacturer's test conditions; actual heating time varies with inlet water temperature, supply voltage, ambient temperature, thermostat setting and scale build-up. Standing loss is measured at a 45°C differential under standard conditions. BEE star ratings are subject to the applicable rating plan and period. Depth is not stated separately in supplier material and should be confirmed where wall clearance is limited. Explanations of tank construction, anode rod operation, stratified flow and pressure rating provided here are general information to aid understanding and are not manufacturer specifications. This appliance stores water heated under pressure and is installed in a wet environment. It must be installed by a qualified plumber and electrician, mounted vertically on a structurally sound wall with appropriate fixings, connected to a properly earthed supply protected by a suitably rated ELCB or RCD, and fitted with the supplied multifunction safety valve, which must never be blocked, plugged or bypassed. The appliance must never be switched on with an empty or partially filled tank. Stored water may reach temperatures capable of causing scalding; the thermostat should be set appropriately and particular care taken with children, elderly and vulnerable persons. The appliance must be isolated and drained before any servicing. Operation should be discontinued and service arranged if leakage, electrical tripping, discoloured water or unusual noise occurs. Mahajan Electronics accepts no liability for damage or injury arising from incorrect installation or from use contrary to the manufacturer's instructions.
