Contrast is the single specification that decides whether a big screen looks cinematic or looks like a bright wall. A 5000:1 static contrast ratio means the gap between the brightest white and the deepest black this panel can produce is enormous — and on 215 centimetres of screen, that gap is what you actually see. MediaTek Pentonic 700 — a chip built for exactly this job
An 85-inch screen magnifies everything, including the weaknesses of whatever is feeding it. The Pentonic 700 (MT9618) is a purpose-built television processor with an ARM Cortex-A73 quad-core CPU and dedicated AI image processing on board. It works on colour, motion, upscaling and HDR conversion continuously and in real time, so a broadcast cricket feed, a compressed OTT stream, a Blu-ray and a console all arrive on the panel looking their best rather than merely being displayed. Mini LED — thousands of tiny lights instead of a few big ones
A conventional LED television is lit by a handful of large LEDs, often only along the edges, so light travels sideways across the panel and every bright object drags a faint halo through the darkness around it. Mini LED shrinks each LED to a small fraction of that size and packs thousands of them directly behind the screen, grouped into precise dimming zones that can be turned down independently. A bright object can therefore blaze while the black right beside it stays black. This matters far more at 85 inches than at 43 — the same amount of blooming that goes unnoticed on a small panel is spread across a wall-sized picture and becomes impossible to ignore. Choosing Mini LED at this size is the difference between a screen that is merely enormous and one that is genuinely cinematic.
