Indian cooking is oil in the air, and oil in the air becomes oil on everything. A tadka spits it, deep frying aerosolises it, and a week of daily cooking puts a film on the chimney that a conventional mesh filter turns into a monthly scrubbing job over the kitchen sink. This IFB removes that job. One press starts a 16-minute heat cycle that warms the internal surfaces, loosens the accumulated oil and drains it into the oil collector tray — you empty a tray instead of dismantling and degreasing filters. That is the difference between a chimney that keeps pulling hard in its fifth year and one that quietly chokes on its own grease by month eight.
Filterless design with zonal suction — power where the smoke actually is
Every mesh or baffle filter is a restriction in the airflow path, and it gets tighter every week as grease builds up. The GL-HC-107-90 takes the filter out of the equation entirely: air travels a clear path to the motors, so the suction you get on day one is the suction the design intends. Zonal suction concentrates that pull directly over the cooking zone rather than spreading it thinly across the whole hood, which is exactly what a masala-heavy Indian kitchen needs — the smoke from a searing kadhai is captured at source instead of drifting sideways into the drawing room. Twin 130 W motors do the work, drawing a maximum of 264 W at full tilt.
Hand sensor control — because your fingers are covered in atta
The moment you most need to change the chimney speed is the moment your hands are wet, oily or holding something hot. A wave of the hand under the sensor turns it on and steps the speed — no greasy fingerprints pressed into the panel, nothing to wipe off afterwards. When you do want to touch it, the feather touch panel sits flush behind glass and cleans with one pass of a cloth. The automatic front glass opening completes the picture: the glass swings open as the chimney starts, opening the suction path and giving the unit a designer profile above your hob rather than a boxy metal hood.

🛠️ Built into the panel
The airflow indicator is the one that earns its place over years — it tells you at a glance how the chimney is running, so the 16-minute auto clean gets used on schedule and suction stays where it should be.
A 90 cm hood spans a four-burner hob with margin on both sides, so smoke rising from the outer burners is caught rather than escaping past the edge — the single most common reason a kitchen still smells of last night's fish.
No filters to pull out, soak and scrub. A 16-minute heat cycle loosens the oil and sends it to the collector tray, keeping suction consistent through years of daily Indian cooking.
Tempered black glass over a wall-mounted body gives a modular kitchen a clean, minimal line, and the smooth surface wipes down far more easily than a brushed steel hood that shows every fingerprint.
Five years of comprehensive cover and seven years of spare parts support from IFB — a chimney is a ten-year appliance, and this is a warranty stack built for that length of service.
