The BEE label on this says 1 star, and we'd rather explain that properly than let you wonder about it. Star ratings are not a single scale across all refrigerators — BEE bands them by capacity and by type, and a 667-litre frost-free machine is judged against a completely different threshold than a 250-litre single-door. So the star count on a very large refrigerator does not translate directly into "wasteful". The number that actually matters for your bill is the annual consumption figure, and here it is 330 kWh a year for 667 litres of cooled space. Work that out at your own tariff and compare it against whatever else you're considering at this capacity — not against a smaller fridge with more stars. Ask any salesman for the kWh number rather than the star count; it's on every BEE label, and it's the only figure you can compare like for like.
851 mm deep and 91 kg — measure before you order, not after
This is a genuinely large appliance and the commonest problem with refrigerators this size is not cooling, it's getting them into the kitchen. The cabinet is 831 mm wide, 1740 mm tall and 851 mm deep — that depth is more than most kitchen counters, so it will stand proud of a counter run rather than sitting flush with it. Check three things before ordering: the doorway and stairwell it has to come through (it weighs 91 kg and ships at 97 kg boxed), the floor space including room for the doors to open fully, and clearance at the back and sides for heat to escape. A refrigerator pushed tight against a wall runs hotter, works harder and costs more to run. Two crisper boxes with separate humidity control — the detail worth having
Most refrigerators give you one crisper drawer and one humidity slider, which forces a compromise, because fruit and vegetables want different things. Most vegetables keep best in high humidity — leafy greens, coriander, spinach and beans wilt in dry air. Many fruits keep better in lower humidity, because trapped moisture is what turns them soft and mouldy. Put both in one drawer at one setting and something always suffers.
