From December to February, Delhi's fruit carts are stacked with kinnow, malta and mosambi at their cheapest and sweetest of the year. That is exactly the season a citrus press earns its counter space — a kilo of oranges from the corner thela, five minutes at the machine, and the whole family has fresh juice before school and office. The 1-litre transparent jar is enough for four glasses in one go, so nobody is standing there emptying it halfway through, and the see-through body means you watch the level rise and stop at the right moment instead of cleaning the counter afterwards.
Two-Way Rotation — more juice out of the same fruit
A conventional citrus press turns its reamer one way only. The membrane walls inside a halved orange fold flat in that single direction and hold on to a surprising amount of juice, which then goes into the bin with the peel. Philips' Two-Way Rotation reverses the spin repeatedly, working those membranes from both sides so the trapped juice is released into the jar instead. Over a household that juices most mornings through the winter, that is a real difference in how many oranges it takes to fill a glass — and the same fruit gives you more.
Adjustable pulp — because everyone in the house drinks it differently
The sieve adjuster dials the pulp level from completely smooth right through to full pulp, and you can move it between pours from the same batch. Children who push away a glass with fibre in it get theirs smooth; the adults who want the fibre get theirs thick. It also changes what you can do with the juice — smooth for a cold glass with breakfast, pulpy for a mosambi juice that actually fills you up mid-morning. One machine, one set of oranges, and the setting takes a second to change.

🛠️ Made to live on the counter
A footprint of roughly 17 cm square is the reason this one actually gets used. It sits permanently in a corner of the counter without crowding the gas or the chopping board, which in a compact Delhi flat is the difference between juicing every day and juicing on Sundays.
One litre is roughly four glasses — a family's breakfast in a single session, without stopping to decant. And because the jar is clear, you see the level rise and stop before it reaches the top.
A citrus press needs a reamer that turns with force rather than speed. At 25 W the motor draws almost nothing, stays cool through a whole bag of oranges, and is quiet enough to use at six in the morning without waking the house.
Reamer, sieve and jar all lift apart in seconds. Citrus juice is best rinsed off straight away, and a machine that takes under a minute to clean is the one you will still be using in March.
Light enough to pull out of a cupboard with one hand and put back with the other, and small enough at 17 × 17 × 20 cm to leave out permanently. Made in India, and backed by a 2-year Philips manufacturer warranty.
