Every purifier quotes 99.97% at 0.3 micron, because that's the standard HEPA test. Far fewer say what happens below it — and below it is where the particles that reach deepest into the lungs live. The FY3433 captures down to 0.02 micron: a hundred times smaller than PM2.5, invisible in every sense, and the size range that includes the finest combustion and industrial pollutants. In a Delhi winter that's not an academic distinction. Alongside it the filter handles the whole ordinary range too — PM2.5 and PM10, dust, smoke, pollen, pet dander, dust mites, bacteria and viruses including H1N1.
2 m² folded into a slim filter — and why that means longer life
A filter clogs when the dirt it has caught starts blocking the air trying to get through. So the more surface area you can fit into the same slot, the longer it takes to reach that point. Philips uses precision-layered pleats to fold over 2 m² of NanoProtect HEPA Series 3 material into a filter that still slides into the same compartment. The consequence is the specification that actually matters to you: long life without airflow restriction — up to 24 months rather than the six or twelve months a smaller-area filter manages, and full airflow throughout instead of a machine that quietly weakens as the filter loads up.
