Self-

The universal annoyance with cheap toasters is that one side comes out darker than the other. That happens because the slot is wider than the bread, so the slice leans against one element and toasts unevenly. The self-centring function here holds the bread in the middle of the slot regardless of its thickness, so both sides sit the same distance from the heat and brown evenly. The bun rack — the bit most people don't know their toaster needs
