4KVsurge protection
An induction cooktop is a circuit board with a glass lid — and unlike a gas burner, it has electronics that a voltage spike can destroy in an instant. That's why cheap induction plates so often stop working after a year: nothing wore out, the circuitry was simply killed by the supply. The PIC 20 carries 4KV high-voltage surge protection guarding the internal circuitry against sudden spikes, backed by an Automatic Voltage Regulator that stabilises the everyday minor fluctuations most of us live with. Together they're specified for Indian power conditions rather than adapted to them — which is the difference between an appliance that lasts and one that's replaced.
Eight presets written for Indian cooking, not adapted to it
Most induction cooktops give you a temperature dial and leave the judgement to you — which means learning by trial and error what setting makes a dosa crisp rather than leathery. The PIC 20 has eight built-in programmes designed for popular Indian dishes: Pressure Cook, Curry, Dosa/Chapati, Idli, Deep Fry, Heat Milk, Keep Warm and Sauté. Each one automatically adjusts temperature and cooking time, so the result is consistent whoever is cooking. Heat Milk alone earns its place — it's the setting that stops milk boiling over, which no temperature dial reliably does.
No flame, no gas — which changes who can safely cook
Induction heats the vessel directly rather than the air around it, so there's no open flame and no gas connection in the kitchen. That removes three specific risks at once: no gas leakage, far fewer accidental burns from a flame catching a sleeve or a dupatta, and nothing left alight if someone forgets to turn it off. For a household with children or elderly family members, and for hostels and rented flats where a gas connection isn't practical, that's the reason to choose induction over a burner. Advanced sensors also regulate heat output automatically, preventing overheating or burning.

Intelligent Power Saver Technology adjusts power to the vessel size and cooking function automatically, so a small pan doesn't draw the same as a full pressure cooker — which is where the electricity saving actually comes from.
Induction puts heat straight into the vessel instead of warming the air around it, so water boils noticeably faster and far less energy is wasted.
A flat, scratch-resistant glass surface with nothing to dismantle — spills wipe off in seconds rather than needing burners lifted and scrubbed.
Under 2 kg, so it moves between rooms, travels to a relative's house, or stows in a cupboard when the counter is needed for something else.
A proper 15A plug for stable power delivery at 1600W — you'll need a 15A socket, which is the same point a fridge or AC uses.
