Coolingtwo systems, not one
In an ordinary frost-free fridge one evaporator cools both compartments and the air moves between them — which is why the milk sometimes tastes faintly of last night's fish. Twin Cooling Plus™ runs independent evaporators, fans and vents for fridge and freezer, controlling temperature and humidity separately in each. Two things follow: food stays moist and fresh for longer rather than drying out in circulated freezer air, and odours cannot travel between compartments, so flavours stay where they belong. It's also what makes the convertible modes possible at all.
Five modes — because a household's needs change through the year
A fixed 107-litre freezer is wasted space for eleven months and not enough for the twelfth. Convertible 5-in-1 lets you change what the freezer is: run it Normal; convert it to Extra Fridge when you're stocking up for a function and need cold storage more than frozen; use Seasonal mode as the weather turns; set Vacation mode to switch the fridge section off while you're away; or Home Alone when it's one person and half the cabinet is standing empty. Switching a compartment off saves real electricity — which on a fridge running 24 hours a day, every day, adds up over a year.
AI Energy Mode — the app that watches the bill
Wi-Fi on a fridge sounds like a gimmick until you see what it does here. Through SmartThings you can change the cooling mode and temperature from your phone, and get an alert if the door has been left open — which is the single most common cause of a fridge working harder than it needs to. AI Energy Mode goes further: if your estimated electricity bill is heading past a target you set, it offers to save energy by adjusting compressor speed and the defrost cycle based on how you actually use the fridge — up to 10% less energy. The app also helps diagnose faults before an engineer visits.
