Add cashews, walnuts, raisins or seeds at the start and the kneading paddle spends the whole cycle breaking them apart — nuts turn to fragments, raisins crush and streak through the dough. Sharp gives the PE-105-CS a separate dispenser that holds the add-ins and releases them into the dough automatically at the right point in the cycle, once the dough has been worked and before the final shaping. The nuts stay whole, the fruit stays in intact pockets, and the pieces sit evenly through the loaf instead of collecting at the edges. It is the difference between a bakery-grade cross-section and a homemade-looking one, and it happens without you standing over the machine waiting for a beep.
