A 55-inch television spends most of the day switched off, which means a large black rectangle dominating the best wall in the room. The Masterpiece is a Frame Series set built around solving that: Personalised ART Mode displays artwork or your own photographs when nobody's watching, and an Ambient Light Sensor adjusts it to the room's lighting so it reads as a framed picture rather than a glowing screen. Wrapped in a bezel-less Armani Gold frame, it's designed to be hung and looked at. This is the feature Samsung charges a substantial premium for on The Frame — here it's part of the package.
124 watts, seven speakers, a subwoofer — you will not need a soundbar
Most 55-inch televisions ship 20 to 30 watts through two small drivers, which is why almost everyone ends up buying a soundbar within a year. This has a 2.1.2-channel system: seven speakers, 124 watts, and a dedicated subwoofer. The subwoofer is the part that matters — it produces the low end a flat panel physically cannot, so explosions land and music has body. Add Dolby Atmos for height channels and eARC if you ever do connect external audio, and you have a television that finishes the job on its own. Budget saved: the soundbar you didn't buy.
4K at 144Hz with FALD — cinema and console on the same panel
Two things here work together. Full Array Local Dimming controls the backlight zone by zone against 800 nits peak brightness, so bright highlights and deep blacks coexist in the same frame rather than washing each other out — that's what Dolby Vision and HDR10+ need to actually show their range. And for gaming, Game Mode Pro on HDMI 2.1 delivers 4K at 144Hz with VRR and ALLM, which is the full specification a PS5 or Xbox Series X can use. FilmMaker, Cinema and Cricket modes tune the picture for what you're actually watching.
